UNDERPRIVILEGED  CHILDREN AND SPECIALLY THE CHILD WHO IS ENGAGED IN BEGGING .

At Swayam Shakti fOUNDATION , we feel strongly that education plays a huge role in creating true equality. Our volunteers interact with children who are found on the streets begging, for a couple of hours each week. We play with them, show them animated stories, talk about the ill effects of tobacco and other substance abuse, educate them about abuse, and in general bond with them. We teach them reading/writing and basic life skills. We do all this in a way so as to create interest and attraction towards knowledge. And in the process, get them enrolled in nearby government schools so as to get them away from begging and an aimless life on the streets.
